About GITHR
Building Rights, Inspiring Dignity, and Growing Equity (BRIDGE)
In today’s interconnected world, human rights face a complex landscape. Technological advancements offer unprecedented opportunities, but also present serious threats like data exploitation, digital inequality, and censorship. Simultaneously, deeply rooted societal inequities persist, denying millions of people especially the most vulnerable access to critical rights including; education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
This demands urgent, collaborative action. We believe that:
Every individual deserves to live free from exploitation, surveillance, and discrimination, both online and offline. We work tirelessly to protect these fundamental rights through strategic partnerships with governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector. This includes monitoring, documenting and employing strategic public interest litigation to challenge discriminatory laws and policies and to secure justice for victims of human rights violations.
Sustainable development must be grounded in human rights. We advocate for socio-economic and cultural rights that align with ethical technological advancement, fostering collaborative solutions with governments and other stakeholders.
Bridging global and local realities is crucial. We translate international human rights standards into tangible, context-specific actions that create real and lasting impact, working closely with local communities and organizations to ensure ownership and sustainability. This includes supporting local initiatives and empowering communities to utilize existing mechanisms to defend their rights.
At the core of our work lies an unwavering belief in the inherent dignity of every human being. We are committed to building a more just and equitable society for all, through collaborative efforts that empower institutions, individuals and communities.
